how your limiting beliefs can block you from your dreams

A belief, is the attitude an individual cultivates towards what he perceives as truth. In epistemology, philosophers use the term “belief” to refer to personal attitudes associated with  ideas and concepts. However, a “belief” does not require active introspection and circumspection.

The mind acceptance of the belief is usually underpinned by an emotional and spiritual certainty, this showcase the multi- dimensional nature of a belief, it engages who we are on a mental, emotional, spiritual and physical level, which explains the power of our belief system and the reason it has a strong grip on us.

“For some of our most important beliefs, we have no evidence at all, except that people we love and trust hold these beliefs. Considering how little we know, the confidence we have in our beliefs is preposterous—and it is also essential.”

—2002 Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman

The different types of beliefs

  • Core Beliefs / or Schemas
  • Genetic Beliefs
  • Soul beliefs
  • Collective Beliefs

Core Beliefs – Schemas

Through the process of cognitive development, we accumulate a lot of knowledge and this knowledge is stored in the form of schemas, which are knowledge representations that include information about a person, group, or situation. Because they represent our past experience, and because past experience is useful for prediction, our schemas influence our expectations about future events and people. When a schema is activated it brings to mind other related information.

This process is usually unconscious, or happens outside of our awareness. Through schema activation, judgments are formed based on internal assumptions (bias) in addition to information actually available in the environment.

The Core beliefs about ourselves, other people, and the world we live in, start forming in early childhood. they usually determine to what degree we see ourself as worthy, safe, competent, powerful, independent, and loved. They also establish our sense of belonging.

Core beliefs are the foundation of who we perceive ourselves as, because as we start developing our cognitive identity , we form intermediate beliefs that are a pure extension to what we believe on a core level, such as if we form a believe of “How stupid/ intelligent we are”, there is definitely a core belief about our intelligence that we should re-visit if we want to change how we perceive ourself on an intellectual level.

Collective beliefs – Collective Conscience

Collective consciousness (sometimes collective conscience or conscious) is a fundamental sociological concept that refers to the set of shared beliefs, ideas, attitudes, and knowledge that are common to a social group or society. The collective consciousness informs our sense of belonging and identity, and our behavior, and how bound we are to the group consciousness.

Collective consciousness is something “common to the whole of society,” It is not an individual condition or phenomenon, but a social one. As a social phenomenon, it is “diffused across society as a whole,” and “has a life of its own.” It is through collective consciousness that values, beliefs, and traditions can be passed down through generations. Though individual people live and die, this collection of intangible things, including the social norms connected to them, are cemented in our social institutions and thus exist independent of individual people.

Most important to understand is that collective consciousness is the result of social forces that are external to the individual, that course through society, and that work together to create the social phenomenon of the shared set of beliefs, values, and ideas that compose it. We, as individuals, internalise these and make the collective consciousness a reality by doing so, and we reaffirm and reproduce it by living in ways that reflect it.

Genetic Beliefs

Experiences in your environment (e.g., learning) cannot change your DNA. Your DNA (i.e., the blueprint behind everything that is you) is set for life. When it comes to our children, the only thing we can pass onto them is our DNA.
In Epigenetic, scientists found that Traumatic events experienced by grand parent, or even grand grand parents, find their way to their children DNA, such as by examining the genetic code of Holocaust survivors and their adult children, researchers found the same epigenetic gene expression across generations. Other research has also found similar evidence when looking at communities who experienced a famine. These “annotations” on people’s DNA transferred even as far as their grandchildren.

Soul Beliefs

these are usually the beliefs we hold based on any experience we had on a soul level, whether it happened in a another timeline (past life, if you believe in reincarnation), or during any traumatic experience, where we felt part of us (or of our life force) has been trapped there.

A call for reflection

If we look at the different types of beliefs, how they are formed? and how they take big part of our psyche, we start wondering whether we really have sovereignty, are we really running our lives? or are we driven by those beliefs that most of them are not even ours, and the rest are distorted. Who are we without these beliefs?

Throughout my journey with Theta Healing – which I recommend if you would like to understand and see these beliefs for yourself- I realised the complexity of our beliefs system, and how dangerously it dictates our life, our mental health, and our sanity. some of these beliefs are held on dual levels, which is so weird, you can have a core belief that you are abundant and expansive, and hold a completely opposite belief on a genetic level tying you to a lack or scarcity consciousness, of never having enough, which creates a huge internal conflict that is difficult to explain realistically and on behavior level.

Here are some common beliefs that can be held in the subconscious mind… do any of them sound familiar?

  • I am useless
  • I am not worthy
  • I hate myself
  • Money is Evil
  • People don’t like me
  • I am unlovable
  • Life is unfair
  • I am always the victim
  • I always lose my money
  • People I love, always leave me.

Having these sorts of beliefs can create so much pain, confusion, and anguish in your life and really limit how wonderful life can be.

How Theta-healing can help…

Theta-healing helps to discover the base negative beliefs that are holding you back, changes them into positive ones.

Theta healing Downloads are a powerful tool to use so your subconscious can learn (or relearn) to know and understand the true meaning and feeling of emotions, and how to use them for our highest and best outcomes.

Examples of the positive emotions Downloads are Love, Happiness, Peace, Joy, Contentment, Gratitude, Self Esteem, Self Worth, Pride in Self, Honour, Respect, Cherished.

So many people are internally unhappy with themselves. They turn this unhappiness towards others and can become judgmental and critical of others, frequently comparing themselves to others and always finding themselves lacking, always wanting more and never achieving their goals.

Downloads can also teach you how to live without negative feelings affecting you on a daily basis. It doesn’t mean you will never feel them again, as sometimes some of these may be the things that keep you safe. Some of the negative feelings are Anger, Jealousy, Envy, Hate, Fear, Frustration, Doubt, Depression, Neglected, Abused.

Healing Trauma and more

Theta healing is great in treating traumas since you do not have to relive every painful memory. It is more about how you felt and what limiting beliefs have been created, or what old ones stored in your DNA suddenly kicked into life, as you may have suffered a similar trauma in a Past Life or an Ancestor had a similar experience. Once the beliefs have been found it is a straightforward process to change or resolve them.

There are many more aspects of Theta healing that may be used in a session;

  • Soul Fragments – returning yours and removing others Soul Fragments from your Soul.
  • Repair a Broken Soul
  • Healing in the Womb (especially powerful for those that have never felt wanted by their parents)
